Singer-songwriter Ray LaMontagne was a factory worker who gave up his job to pursue music full time after hearing Stephen Still’s “Treetop Flyer” on the radio. LaMontagne began performing in 1999 and scored a gig opening for legendary folks singers John Gorka and Jonathan Edwards. It took LaMontagne several years but he was able to released his debut album, Trouble through RCA Records. His subsequent releases, Til the Sun Turns Black would climb up all the way to number 28 on the Billboard 200, benchmarking his name as one of North America’s fast rising folk singers.
