Ravinia Pavilion
The Ravinia is gearing up for a fiesta with two amazing Latin performers! This summer event in Highland Park, Illinois, will be headlined by La Original Banda El Limon. This legacy band has been bringing music to the masses since the 1960s. These days, they sing a mix of love songs and corridos that will get you up on your feet to dance the night away.
Como La Flor will be the opening act at this fiesta. This is a tribute group that pays homage to late queen of Tex-Mex Selena. You better be ready to sing your heart out when the song hits that pivotal moment, you know the one. "Aaaay Como Me Duele." Selena lives on, and this group is here to prove that.
Doors of the Ravinia Pavilion will open up at 2pm for this show. The music starts at 6 or 6:30, but you're still going to want to be here early, particularly if you need to find a spot within the lawn. Tickets are starting at just $53, and you access them by hitting the get tickets button now.
This year's lineup at the Ravinia Pavillion features some amazing artists. Legends in their own right, even. However, none of them are going to have the crowd dancing through the night like Como La Flor and La Banda Original El Limon will. You're going to be able to hear the trumpets of the banda from a mile away. A word of advice, ditch the high heels and bring some more comfortable footwear. If not, your feet are going to hurt by the end of the show.
La Original Banda El Limon is known for romantic hits like "Derecho de Antiguedad." That song is fittingly the one that most people want to hear from them. It speaks not only of romance, but it's a jab at La Arrolladora Banda El Limon who they feel took the name. Apart from the romance, they'll also sing corridos like "Juan Martha." The show will remain upbeat thanks to the trumpets and the tambora. Yet, this type of music hits a little bit differently. If you're a fan of Mexican regional music, you're certainly going to appreciate the combination of styles.
You can't go wrong if you want to be inside the theater and close to the stage. There are a few issues with that location, though, for this particular show. Simply put, if you want to get up and dance, there's more room for that out on the lawn. The obvious issue with that is that you need to get here to claim a spot that's close to the stage but gives you more space to really do some quebradita dancing. Don't worry, The Ravinia has everything you need to stay well-fed and hydrated if you do decide to arrive hours before the show starts.
Spots on the lawn start at $53. If you want to participate in the Fiesta Ravinia, hit the get tickets button now.
