The band’s music genres expand across R&B, Jazz, Funk, Disco, Pop, Afro-pop and Latin. To the fans, mostly known to be the Funk legends. The band’s initial name was Salty Peppers, however, after getting signed to Warner Bros. Records in 1970 Maurice White used his astrological sign of Sagittarius to form a new name. Legend has it that the Zodiact possesses a “primary elemental quality of fire and seasonal qualities of earth and air” and from the ashes EWF was born as the band’s new official name. In the duration of the band’s six decade long career, they have produced an impressive 21 studio albums and released 62 singles.
