After that, the band will travel to the Northeast for shows in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and Boston on June 13–14. Before then, on June 18 and 20, the band will reconvene with Big Boi for gigs in Huber Heights, Ohio, and Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
The tour will stop on June 19 at The Pavilion at Ravinia.
Trombone Shorty, the Grammy-winning horn player, infuses everything he plays with a New Orleans flair. He steals the show as he prowls the stage with his band, Orleans Avenue, blending jazz, R&B, and funk into one spectacular performance.
Starting off 2024, Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue joined the third "Getting Funky in Havana" festival, a five-day cultural exchange trip to Cuba honoring the country's long-standing musical connection to New Orleans. Then, Shorty held his annual Shorty Gras celebration at the Krewe de Freret Parade. Shorty and the band will keep the party going strong for three weeks, 14 dates across North America, with guests Nelly, Dumphstafunk, and fellow New Orleans funk group the Soul Rebels. This year's other notable bookings include Bluesapalooza, the Minnesota Yacht Club Festival, and the band's much awaited Treme Threauxdown 8, which begins its New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival runs on April 17.
Recently, Trombone Shorty and his childhood buddy Sammy Cyrus collaborated on a unique project called Saint Brass. The pair has released "Mardi Gras Morning," an incredibly happy song that perfectly encapsulates the lively mood of New Orleans, before the Mardi Gras celebrations.
As one half of OutKast and the leading spitter of the Dungeon Family, rapper Big Boi made history. He established the standard for Atlanta hip-hop and, indirectly, for the entire culture. He now arrives at The Pavilion in style and with a unique spirit.
