Melissa Etheridge is one of the most iconic queer rock legends. When her debut album was published in 1988, it became an underground hit. The album's lead single, "Bring Me Some Water," earned Etheridge her first Grammy Award nomination for Best Rock Vocal Performance, Female in 1989. Her second album, Brave and Crazy, was released that year and brought her two more Grammy nominations. The album peaked at No. 22 on the Billboard 200. Never Enough, Etheridge's third album, was released in 1992. The album's main hit, "Ain't It Heavy," earned Etheridge her first Grammy Award.
Melissa Etheridge's raspy, smokey vocals and candid words have helped her light up venues across the globe. With more than 20 years of experience, she has penned popular songs including "I'm the Only One," "Come to My Window," "I Want to Come Over," and more.
The singer remains optimistic regardless of the losses she has experienced in her life recently, including the death of her son. She says, “”My happiness is my own, and it's my responsibility. So I find my joy every day. I have three living, gorgeous children. I have a gorgeous wife. I have a lovely life. I have a sweet dog.”
Joining Melissa Etheridge for this show are the Indigo Girls. They’ve received more love this year thanks to getting featured in the soundtrack of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie - some long overdue attention! Some of the duo’s best hits are “Power of Two,” “Closer To Fine,” and “Galileo.” In the upcoming year, they will release a documentary - Indigo Girls: It's Only Life After All. It focuses on Amy Ray and Emily Saliers of Indigo Girls and how their distinct folk-rock style became the self-acceptance hymn of a generation. The documentary, which includes both old home footage and fresh interviews with Ray and Saliers, promises "joy, humor, and heart-warming earnestness."
