There is no doubt: the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees ZZ Top are some of rock’s finest axemen. They smashed into the rock industry in 1969 with their signature sound based on guitarist Billy Gibbons' immaculate blues-style guitar work and drummer Frank Beard’s pounding rhythm section. From the rhythmic old school groove of “I Thank You” and the bellowing, Lousiana voodoo magic style blues guitar and dirty, swanky jam of “Jesus Just Left Chicago” to the sleazy Texas-riff boogie and growly vocals of “La Grange” – ZZ Top still got it all, and there simply is no chance of slowing down. The ZZ Top line-up comprises Billy Gibbons working the frets of his 1959 Gibson SG, Frank Beard pounding out beat after beat in the rhythm section, and the smooth, bellowing bass of Elwood Francis.
Lynyrd Skynyrd have enjoyed relentless residency on rock radio airwaves for over 5 decades, with their thrilling note-perfect performance. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees are a massively potent force with their legendary three-guitar showdowns, crazy good honky-tonk solos, harmonic power vocals, insane chemistry, and smokin’ hot guitar solos. The Sharp Dressed Simple Man Tour is going to be a celebration of the rock staples – from “Call Me The Breeze” and the thunderous “Free Bird” to “Sweet Home Alabama” and the epic “Simple Man”. Lynyrd Skynyrd’s epic line-up comprises multi-instrumentalist, Rickey Medlocke, vocalist Johnny Van Zant, drummer Michael Cartellone, guitarist Mark Matejka, keyboardist Peter Keys, and bassist Keith Christopher.
The two Southern rock titans will be supported by guest artists The Outlaws.
